GOSA at GhanaFest South Africa
On the 14th of September 2024, Ghanaians in the republic of South Africa converged in numbers at the just ended 10th edition of GhanaFest, South Africa.
The event was headlined by Ofori Amponsah and King Paluta of Ghana, backed by the Sankofa Band (South Africa) and many other local artists.
GhanaFest have grown to become a flagship event for the diverse communities in South Africa as a medium to showcase rich heritage of respective individuals and groups whilst embracing each other for peaceful coexistence.
Gadangme Organisation of South Africa in appreciation to invitation by the organizers, made a cultural representation at the event in order to display awareness of notable tradition and culture of Gadangmes. Cladded in traditional white clothes, head covering and kpokpoi, the GOSA representatives made a signature Gadangme presentation that caught the attention of attendees.
The event was comparatively historical and exceptional considering that, Gadangmes made their first official representation and appearance in the tenth year since the events inception.
Many people awed at the display of indigenous tradition of Gadangmes by the Gadangme Organization of South Africa in a manner that have never been witnessed in South Africa.
GOSA looks forward honoring initiation and support to GhanaFest in a purposeful and indigenous cultural representation in the future.
